 American Digital Monitoring®

Our History

American Digital Monitoring®  has always offered leading edge technology and services to its dealer network.  Starting in 1968 from its grass roots as a family owned private investigation firm, H.L. Cats & Associates, it quickly branched into security guards, patrol, burglar and fire alarm installation services, using a variety of contract monitoring centers.

In 1981, due to the growing demand for less physical security and more automatic and electronic protection, we divested our investigation, patrol and security guard divisions leaving the core business, named Central Security Corporation to focus on Burglar and Fire system installation and monitoring.

Opening its own private monitoring center in 1985, without the use of the then non-existent internet, it grew to offer its retail alarm installation and monitoring services Nationwide using yellow pages coast to coast.  That same year, it began to offer wholesale contract monitoring services through alarm trade magazines in order to support its monitoring center.

In 1998, realizing an explosive growth in its contract monitoring services, Central Security Corporation made the decision to sell its retail division with over 73,000 burglar and fire accounts to a National alarm company.  Using proceeds from that sale, Cen Com, Inc. was created and American Digital Monitoring®   was trade marked as its official name, which it still maintains to this day.

In 2009, it moved its primary central station to the nearby community of Kirkland, Washington.  As part of the transition, all new supporting equipment, including new DICE SYSTEM hardware with the latest software version was added.

Over the next few years, at the request of its dealers, American Digital Monitoring®  opened several satellite monitoring centers in Honolulu, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Baton Rouge, Miami and in 2012, Austin, Texas.

In 2013, its DICE SYSTEM was replaced with the newest hardware and software platform allowing the ability to expand even more over the next few years.

Today, American Digital Monitoring®   provides wholesale contract monitoring for over 1,700 independent alarm dealers with over 190,000 accounts in The U.S. and Canada.
